and just like that.....

my baby turned six.

he celebrated with a cubs themed baseball party, complete with a pickup baseball game.  this kid is seriously the most energetic and enthusiastic person i know.  he makes life so much fun (and keeps me thoroughly exhausted!)  cheers to six.  but don't you be getting any ideas about how old that makes me.......lol!

and just because everyone loves a good progression.....here is h with his best gal pal, flora at every. single. birthday. party.

six years and counting.....

three. years. old.

tomorrow is my baby boy's birthday. 

he turns three. 

does this mean that i need to stop referring to him as my baby boy?

we had a really fun birthday party for him over the weekend, and i actually took my camera this time, so there will be plenty of photos to follow of the fun...

friends make life sweeter

hendrix is really starting to invest himself in his relationships with his little friends.  while i have always initiated and encouraged playdates (primarily because i enjoy hanging out with other mommies.....but also because i know it is good for his social skills), recently he has been the one that suggests we go and play with a specific friend.  

he will start out the conversation with something like.....

"mommy, i'm thinking we should go to my friend's house today".

"oh, yeah?"

"yeah, i'm thinking we should play with karin and flora!"

and these two really do play pretty well together.  though they do have such a high comfort level with each other, that they aren't always on their best behaviour together. 

(pretty sure that flora doesn't like it when hendrix tries to be the boss.....which is, well, ummm.....kind of often these days.....)

karin and i have been friends since before either of these two were born, and since they are so close in age, it has been so fun to watch them grow up together.  just for fun i poked my head through some old photos of the two of them......

even though hendrix is just a little over a month older, he got much bigger faster.....i loved those early playdates where we laid them on the floor together and they were oblivious to each other!  lol

i am so glad that he is learning the value of friendship! 

i feel so blessed to have my friend karin in my life, and look forward to many more years of watching these two kiddos grow up and play together ;)

Playdates!

Hendrix's Aunt Kate came for a little visit this weekend, and they both had a lot of fun together!  

We made it to playgroup finally this month on Friday and Hendrix and Flora had some quality 'floor time' together. :)  He looks like such a big boy next to such a dainty lil' gal!  (miss Flora is nearly two months younger though.....)

And lastly, Hendrix and Abigail enjoyed some time together this afternoon.  They are the closest in age as Abigail is only 12 hours younger than Hendrix.  They seem to be growing at a fairly comparable rate; but they had a super hard coordinating schedules today.  In 6 hours, there were only about 20 minutes in which they were both awake at the same time!  At that rate he is not going to have much luck as a suitor.......
