two months

oh my goodness, time is flying.

blaire is two months old now.

she is starting to really interact with us, giving us smiles when we talk to her, and trying to figure out how to make little noises - squeaks and coos.

she stays awake alot more during the day, and enjoys playing on her mat, sitting in her bouncy seat, and watching her glow worm sing to her.  she loves her brother still, and is very patient when he gives her slobbery kisses, and shouts in her face.

she sleeps alot too though, in fact she has been sleeping through the night (like for 8-9 hour stretches) for this entire past week.  mommy is loving it and i'm hoping that after i get through the busy season of family christmas photos i can actually start enjoying getting a good night's rest!  ;)

in the meantime, i am just smitten with this precious little face!

love, love, love her!

Thanksgiving in Grinnell

Hendrix celebrated his first Thanksgiving with his Grandma and Grandpa and Crazy Aunt Kate.

Grandpa enjoyed carrying him around in the baby bjorn.

Grandma enjoyed talking to him.

And Kate enjoyed watching him laugh and talk on his playmat.

We had a very nice day at my in-laws.  I felt relatively well for having had surgery the day before, but I just layed around and watched everyone play with Hendrix and eat all day.  While I smelled the amazing smells of turkey and stuffing, I ate chicken noodle soup, jello, and pudding (the joys of the clear liquids diet!).

We celebrated Kate's birthday, and she enjoyed the sweater that Hendrix got for her.

I am not allowed to lift anything heavier than 5 pounds (until next week when I have my stitches out), so I have spent lots of time sitting on the floor next to Hendrix talking to him and stroking his face.  I am really missing our snuggles and have to have quite a bit of help while feeding him.

He has been awfully good natured about being passed around, and everyone has been super helpful with his care!

He did the crossword puzzles with Grandma this morning.

We are over at my folks' house now for a few days, and I am looking forward to being able to start adding more solids into my diet.  I might even be able to have turkey by Sunday which is when we are going to my grandparents house for another Thanksgiving meal. :)

Some Comparisons

This movie was taken yesterday of Hendrix.  I started noticing how large he was looking on his playmat and it made me want to compare him to what he was like the last time I took a movie of him playing on it.

This is from when he was only 2 weeks old......I can't believe how much he is changing!

1.5 weeks
2.5 weeks

5.5 weeks

7.5 weeks

Same story with his carseat; we had to put all the straps on the smallest setting possible to bring him home from the hospital.....and now he doesn't need any headrests, and he needs to have the straps readjusted because his shoulders are up too high for the current setting.

I am loving all his faces!

He is starting to actually respond with smiles and even a little cooing when we talk to him while he is playing.  I love it!  :)

One Month Old!

Yesterday, Hendrix turned one month old.

He has taken to big, full body stretches!
The kind that show how his sleeves and pant legs are both getting a little bit short on him. :)

He really likes playing on his little mat, and is starting to interact with the toys that are hanging from it. He has figured out how to flail his arms around to hit the toys - which make rattling and crunching noises.

All this growing is very tiring.

We were getting packed up to take Gabe to preschool.  Gabe wanted to help by putting his paci back in his mouth when it fell out.  It was so cute!

And we're off!

Can't believe how quickly the time is going by.  We are lovin' every minute!
