splashin' in the {summer sun}

last week we checked out the brookside wading pool with grandma - for the first time all summer.  

i think it was a big hit!

fun in the sun {summer style}

today felt like summer....and after running around at the park and getting all sweaty, we decided to get out the swimming pool to cool off.

the kids had a blast!

this spunky little mister was all smiles as he splashed and watered the plants, sidewalk and blaire ;)

then she had to take a little time out to smell the flowers.....

this little face just melts me!  with flushed cheeks and wild hair, i think she is just a doll baby.  with some serious attitude however.....

and miss opinionated over here, wouldn't take off her 'sparkly shoes' even to play in the pool.  or to play in the sandbox after the pool......needless to say they are in the washing machine right now......gotta get 'em clean before tomorrow as she won't leave the house in any other pair of shoes right now.  they. are. her. favorite. ;)

and a grand finale to a fun afternoon outside was grilled pork chops followed by pink ice cream cones.

a couple weekends ago, hendrix got the chance to do some swimming with his daddy and uncles, and he just dove right in with no fear even though he hadn't been swimming in a couple months.  i had wondered if he was going to be a bit apprehensive......nope.  not at all.

he loves playin' with uncle joel.

and he really loves hangin' out with daddy, so if he is doing it, then it must be super cool. ;)

oh, and he adores uncle jake!

the big boys did a little racing, and hendrix just splashed and splashed!

the water was cold, and his lips were purple, but he still didn't want to be done.  

now i am especially excited for our mini vacation to the wisconsin dells to splash in the water parks over spring break.  this little fella is going to have a blast!

he's getting so big, i just can barely even wrap my mind around it fast enough.  

love these boys so much!
