easter (2016)

our easter holiday was spent at my parent's house in grinnell and was full of treats and fantastic company!

it was a tad bit chilly, but the kids didn't let that stop them from having a blast finding eggs in the yard!

blaire took her new roller skates for a spin!

hendrix was the bubble master.....

and both my kids enjoyed some bonding time with their 3 month old cousin, miss cailyn cora!

but, of course, no holiday would be complete without a family selfie!!

spring break staycation {botanical garden}

This year we are staying home for spring break, but we are trying to take advantage of the spare time to participate in fun things around home that we don't always think of.

Our first stop was the Des Moines Botanical Garden for a fun family morning.  The kids enjoyed their scavenger hunt, and had fun in both the tropic humidity, and the backyard flower garden.

I must disclaim that I had no say in their wardrobe selections for the day (b is looking especially PURPLE! ha!), but I still think they are the most photogenic kiddos I have ever met ;)

Now we are getting excited about getting our own garden started........  

But that is a project for another day!
