My work schedule allows me two days a week at home with my kiddos, and over the past couple of years we have come to fondly refer to those days as our 'adventure days'. These are typically the days that we plan playdates and find fun places to explore out of town.
Since we had most recently just visited the Science Center, the Zoo, and even the Botanical Gardens, we were desperate to try something new this week. We settled on trying out the Family Museum in Bettendorf (which is definitely a bit of a haul from here, but it was worth the long drive for the fun day!)
After the long car ride, the kids were excited to run off some energy on the playground first thing!
It is so fun to have flexible friends who make such great company on our adventures!
I think the water table entertained the boys for almost an hour.....
and then the role play centers were a huge hit!
hendrix says he still plans to pursue a career as an architect, but it was fun to try out some other jobs!
the museum isn't huge, but everything was perfectly geared toward engaging my kids at their ages, and as exhausted as they were at the end of the afternoon, they were NOT ready to leave! ;)
(just a little sidenote for anyone interested in visiting - your SCI membership shares reciprocity for free admission)
